Happy Birthday from dad!
My sweet angel my little trouble and my beloved daughter,
It became a family tradition that daddy writes on your blog only on your birthdays :) so I'm not willing to break this tradition and here I'm writing...
Last three years has been an unbelievable journey for all of us. A journey that started in USA (where you were born) and keep going in Turkey. I remember the day you were born, your face, your big hands and feet, your dark skin. I did not know what to do with you and I certainly never knew that you will become the joy of my life. when i look at this last year or so I started to see what kind of a person you will become. Your character is shaping. So far I'm more then happy with what i see in you.The following is not just my description but a description that would be given by many who know Ceran.
Ceran is a very loving and caring child. She loves animals, babies and other children. She has a very strong character and generous heart. She is a great observer ans observes what is going on around her. She is very aware when somebody is sad and she tries to make that person happy. She loves sharing her belongings with other children. She is very independent and she wants to do everything by herself. She has a very strong character ans she always know what she wants and how to get it. She loves her momy and dady very much.
I want to share a story that her momy told me which I'm proud to share with you. Couple of days ago Eser went to school to pick Ceran up. Ceran has a friend whos name is Mira. Mira's mom told Eser that she wants to thank us on behalf of Mira. She told Eser that Mira did not want to stay at school, she was crying and begging her mom and dad for not to go to school. Ceran had been wacthing the whole scene every day. Finally one day she went up to Mira and hold her hand before she even sttarted to cry. Ceran said " come Mira lets play and do painting" Ceran distracted Mira and Mira did not even have time to cry. After that day every morning Ceran was taking Mira's hand and help her adjust. In next couple of days Mira felt more comfortable with the school and she was very happy that ceran was there for her.
I know some other stories that prooves how big my 3 year old daughter's heart is maybe even bigger then many grown up's heart ever can be. She makes me proud every day and I love her very much. Happy birthday baby. Dady loves you till the end of the days.

Babyhood years are behind you,
You are 3 years old and you are a little girl now.
You became a character already and it will be completed in the next coming years.

Ceran @ Ico's Wedding!
Congratulations to our cousin Ico and Emre on their wedding. This is the first wedding celebration that Ceran has ever been to. She had lots of fun during the party in her little white party dress but she could not resist falling a sleep before it was over. :)

Bye bye diapers
Ceran is diaper free now. She had quit using diapers when we were at home in San Diego before we did the big move to Turkey but right on the airplane, on the way I put her diapers on and did not took them off for the following couple of months. It was a big change for everybody and we were leaving her with different people everyday to take care of the settling issues so basically no one had the time or the experience to deal with the potty time  After we moved to our own apartment in Istanbul, she started using the bathroom again and here we say bye bye to diapers. It was a very smooth come back for her and we feel lucky that we did not have to deal with it at all. She had no accidents ever and we hope that it will continue like that. Cheers to my girl!

New Begginings in Turkey
Here we are! Back to our home country after 9 years of living in the U.S. We left as singles then got married and became a family. We are back to Turkey with our 26 months old daughter, Ceran, on December 29 2008.
The very first comment she made after we landed in Istanbul was :
'it is verrry cold Mommy!" which we will always remember. Also she was very surprised by the horns blowing everywhere . Every time she hears them she turns to us and asks: "oh what's that! " her little comments are remarkable. Although she realizes the temperature change between the two cities, she insists to be a San Diegan and never puts on any kind of hat,scarf, etc. .I think Ceran is the only child that I have seen without any hat on in the middle of the winter in Istanbul.

The big flight to Turkey

It was an emotional and sad morning. We are thankful to our friends who did not leave us alone and came all the way to our hotel and the airport and we all said good bye and waved each other for the last time in San Diego.

The very last day in San Diego
I think nothing can describe our feelings on this day. Ceran knows that we are going to Turkey without knowing what Turkey means She is just curious about things happening for the last couple of months but I am not sure what she really thinks. She constantly says we are going to Turkiye but who knows what is on her mind.
We are very happy moving back but also sad about leaving this wonderful, beautiful city behind us.

Staying at a hotel like tourists in San Diego
After very tiring couple months we have finalized our packing. Since we have nothing left here we decided to move to a hotel for the last week and spent the last Christmas at a lovely historic hotel in San Diego .

Ceran's Goodbye to Discovery Isle(her fist school in her life )

The bye bye tour in San Diego
For the last couple months we have been very busy with packing up for Turkey. It is much more tiring than we had ever expected. Since we are very close for leaving San Diego behind us after so many years, we have been sightseeing the city as much possible as we can and we have been taking lots of videos and pictures. Hope that Ceran will remember the time we spent here for the rest of her life.

Pumkin Patch and Halloweeeen!
Ceran dressed up as a kitty cat for the Halloween this year. We went to a costume party with her playgroup and to a farm for the pumpkin patch where she picked her own pumpkin and had a lot of fun...
