Christmas 2009 - Part 1Posted on Dec. 31, 2009 at 1:39 PM - Post CommentNana and Papa arrived the Sunday before Christmas with more gifts than I think I have ever seen in my life! We tried to open everything from everyone that would not be with us on Christmas morning ahead of time, so we could do the gifts from Nana/Papa, Gaga/Grandpa, Mama/Dada, and Santa on Christmas morning. Anyway, here is Grady opening some things from "Grammy Nancy" (who has also been known to go crazy at Christmas). This was a Melissa and Doug wooden castle with a king, queen, knights, horses, and furniture. Like a dollhouse for boys - so cute! She also got him several books (a few with the music and stuff), a puzzle, a stuffed mouse (the one from "I you Give a Mouse a Cookie"), PJs, some clothes, a few movies, and a whole stocking filled with small things. She also got the new baby an outfit (all white - so cute). It was officially the first thing for the new baby, so that was fun. The next day Eric worked but the rest of us went to the zoo. It was a pretty nice day, but it was still chilly in the morning. But we had fun! As usual - feeding the goats... with Nana - watching the flamingos the leopard put on a show for us that day - totally acting like a house cat, rolling around and playing with Papa with the elephants That evening Papa and Grady made homemade pasta (with the pasta machine Papa brought) to go with the incredible homemade sauce Papa brought On Tuesday Nana and I took G to the Children's Museum while Eric and Papa were at home working on the playhouse (there will be a grand unveiling of that coming soon). It now has walls and a roof. It's mostly just all the finishing (shingles, siding, beadboard inside) that needs to be done. Hopefully it will be done in a couple weeks! We bumped into 3 little girls from Grady's class at school at the museum. It was so cute because they were running over to him saying "Grady! Grady!" and he ran over to me to excitedly tell me "THREE of my friends from school are here!" In the wind tunnel playing the piano He was so good with this crane - actually lifting things, and moving them to different spots Recycling! The farm - it's just for toddlers and Grady never wanted to leave! Water play with some of his lady friends And with Nana On Wednesday (the morning before Christmas Eve) we decided we better open some more things so that Christmas Eve and Christmas wouldn't be TOO hectic. So we started with the stockings from my Nana (she does them for all 3 of us). little wind-up bulldozer truck stickers blueberry treats helping Dada with his They both got Altoids because Grady loves them. But Grady's were mini, which I had never seen gift from Uncle Mark Lincoln Logs! Christmas Eve recap next! |
