Hilton Head - Part 2

Tuesday was my birthday, and it was the best one in a very long time, maybe ever.  Everything just went so perfectly.  I slept in a bit, then woke up to a table full of gifts and a very excited little Grady who wanted to help me open them.  It was so cute how excited he was, though he totally understood they were for me.  Here I am opening gifts - don't mind how absolutely terrible I look.  I JUST woke up.

cute new Vera Bradley bag for fall - ignore me and notice my cute bag and child please :)

My wonderful huge atlas - I have wanted one for so long because I'm a nerd.

After breakfast we hit the beach - again!  Since we were headed to the spa in the afternoon, I needed to fit in some beach time.

yes, more burying Grady

Nana, "Yummy Pat", and I went to a super nice spa in the afternoon.  I got a massage, tea tree oil salt scrub, and reflexology.  It was SO very relaxing!

That evening we all went out to dinner at Marley's, a super cute place that we also went last year.

Before dinner:

me and Mr. Cheeseball

the whole group at my birthday dinner - it was great and I even got some yummy cake for dessert

OK - this is just so funny.  It is quite a big place but they sat us at the exact same table as last year.  So I have to post a comparison picture.  Grady must just love that place because he is so happy in both!

Grady being a fabulous little boy throughout dinner:

That night Eric and I wandered over to the beach bar.  I loved walking the 1/4 mile or so down the beach in the dark.  The beach is just gorgeous at night.  And I feel very special because every year the big meteor shower (I forget the name) is on my birthday (sometimes the next night).  That night on the way home I saw shooting stars!  What a perfect end to my birthday :)

The next day Nana offered to bring Grady to Lawton Stables at Sea Pines.  It is really cool that they have this little farm right on the resort grounds.  There are pony rides, lots of horses, and other animals too.

Pony ride - he apparently did really well.  The man leading him actually thought he must have been on ponies before.  In reality, he has been on a huge horse only once, and he was definitely nervous that time!

with Nana

watching a woman shovel poop (I think) - there is a hilarious video I will post - he keeps talking all about the poop, and you can tell the poor woman is not too happy to be dealing with it

running around like crazy - so Grady

when he got back we swam in the pool and then took him to the beach club for lunch, since he loved that place

Eric relaxing on the beach that afternoon:

bathing beauty, Grammy Pat

then the storm rolled in:

watching a movie that evening with Nana

that evening it stormed but we had planned on grilling, so Eric, being the good sport that he is, rigged up an umbrella and grilled in the storm

we stayed in and made fruity drinks and played Dominos that night (thanks for teaching us, Pat!) - it was actually quite fun!

Thursday through Saturday are coming soon!
