Trip Recap Part 4 - the rest of Massachusetts

On Wednesday Eric, Grady, and I met up with Ellen, a friend of mine from high school. She has two little girls (Grady is 1/2 way between their ages), so we went to this cool place called "Noodle Noggin and Bean" which is a playplace where each room has a theme - water, Legos, art, grocery store, etc. We have brought Grady before, and he loved it. This time was no different.

I only got a couple pictures there since I was chatting with Ellen a lot.

all the kids in a rocket ship - too bad it's not a better shot of them

That night we had a really fun time too. We went to dinner with Ellen and her husband - just the adults. It was very relaxing and fun. They are people I really wish we lived closer to - we get along so well and have fun with them.

The next day we went to a children's museum that is located in an old victorian house - pretty cool

this was super cool - it's hard to tell but they are standing inside a giant bubble

outside there was this cool pirate ship play area

after that we stopped by Nana's work to say hi to everyone on the way home

I had to get a picture of Grady in her office because I got a very similar picture of him from when we were there in October

Later that day we played outside and Grady really took to the tricycle that my mom had for him - I was excited because he has never really ridden one before (he'll walk while sitting on one but not use the pedals).  He was doing great though and loving it!

It was a beautiful evening and we had a little cookout.  But first we had a blast on the hammock together.  Grady could not get enough, and was being super lovey, plus hammocks are just fun and relaxing.

the sky was so blue and the trees were blowing in the wind - we just kept watching them

The next day (Friday) we went to this really cool butterfly garden.  It is the type that is covered, so the butterflies all stay in there.  There were so many - all different exotic types.  Grady did very well, especially since he had to be held or hold hands the whole time (the rule for children under 3).  It was especially neat when 2 landed on Nana and stayed there the whole time we were there.

Cheesy picture at the entrance - but so funny

I got some nice shots of some butterflies

After that we went to this really cool farm/restaurant/ice cream place.  We were just getting ice cream, but there were all sorts of fun things to do.  Grady was struggling with the sun (it was super sunny and his eyes are light blue so they are really light sensitive) so Papa gave him his sunglasses.  It was so funny because he actually kept them on, and as soon as he put them on, he just said "I'm cool" on his own.  Since we got back from the trip he has decided he is big on his sunglasses and wears them all the time now.

he's eating sorbet, BTW - it was incredible ice cream (made right there)

After a ridiculously long nap that afternoon for Grady, we went out to dinner.  We went to this fun steak restaurant owned by Ted Turner.  We really liked it, and Grady had a fabulous time.  He got to go see them cooking, since they have an open style kitchen.

Here are the boys making pretend mustaches with the bendy sticks they give the kids (GREAT idea - way better than crayons) - Grady loves mustaches and often pretends to have one to be silly (he will also talk in a deep voice when he pretends to have one - like he is a big man)

So that's it - we left the next morning!  It was a great trip!  Thank you to all of our family and friends who spent time with us and made us feel so loved!
