A visit with Nana

Last weekend was great!  Nana got here on Friday morning.  Grady and I went to pick her up at the airport.  We actually parked the car and went in because Grady kept asking if we could.  It's a small airport, so it was nice because we were just sitting by a fountain, having a snack, when Nana came down the stairs.  Grady's face lit up right away and he was saying "Nana! Nana!"

That night we went out to dinner.  Grady was pretty good - a little squirmy but very happy.  He was saying hi to everyone as usual.

Saturday morning we went to the birthday party at the fire station.  It was nice weather, which was good, since it was mostly outside.  Grady got to go on the trucks and eat cakes, so he was pretty darn happy :)  Saturday Grady took a very good nap too, which was nice.   After Grady got up we all went to the playground nearby and played for a bit.

Sunday morning we went to Barnes and Noble so Grady could play with the trains (even though he has a big train table at home, he still likes to go there) and read books.  That afternoon, Nana and I took Grady to Monkey Joes:

It's a fun place with all of the huge inflatables.  Grady just went non-stop for about an hour (either Nana or I would go on things with him since he is so small) and then just went over and sat down in the lounge area.  It cracks me up that he didn't get fussy or anything.  When he had enough he just went and sat down :)  He really is good about stuff like that.

Now for some pictures...

playing with Daddy's phone (before Nana came):

Watching his DVD of Eric Carle stories that Nana got him.  He's reading along in a new Eric Carle book Nana also got him:

He was soooo interested in the sweets on the table at the party, but he showed amazing restraint.  Not even a finger got into the treats.

blurry, but so cute:

hugging the birthday boy - this shows you a little bit of the real Grady I see every day - this is pretty standard whenever he sees a friend (or sometimes a total stranger)

checking out the trucks:

balloons!

saying hi to the fireman:

riding on the toy BMWs they had

Grady wanted to make breakfast on Sunday - he ALWAYS asks to cook.  So he made blueberry pancakes for everyone.  Nana helped :)
