"Happy Birthday to Grady!"

We celebrated Grady's 2nd birthday with a big party this past Saturday. It was lots of work but turned out great. Most importantly, Grady had a lot of fun, as did his friends. Nana and Papa came in from Massachusetts too, which was really nice. We could not have pulled it off with out them!
Starting the day of the party and continuing since, Grady has been obsessed with singing "Happy Birthday". It's really cute because he will keep singing it and sing it to all of the people in the room and then sometimes move on to body parts or inanimate objects :) He will also say "two now" when you ask how old he is.
Here is the cake - my first attempt at decorating a cake!

I got this really cute photofetti with pictures of G from the past year on it. It was on all the tables.

The gift table before guests arrived:

And the photo board I made - there was a photo for months 13-23. The photo that was matted for everyone to sign (on the gift table) was a professional 2 year photo.

The whole screen porch set up. I had about 20 balloons in orange, yellow, and blue just floating up to the ceiling with strings hanging down too - can't really see it, but it was cute!

Entrance to the party (from the gate on the side of our house):

What you see when you first walked in:

The favors that were on the back of the tractor:

chocolate truck pops that I made, in the back of a dump truck:

The whole tractor:

turning towards the right, the huge banner my dad made:

tables - one for food and 2 for seating - the wheelbarrow had drinks

play area - climber, coloring table, and giant sandbox made by Eric for the occasion (made from construction barriers):

this was a huge hit:

checking everything out:

everyone eating cake:

Grady visiting with friends:

wagon rides!

straight juice - what a treat!

Grady loooved the balloons, as did all the kids. We kept some but gave lots away to the kids as they left. Everyone wanted them.

So unfortunately it was unusually cool (about 50ish) the day of the party. Average for this time of year is low 60's. But we really couldn't bring it inside, obviously. It all worked out though. Little kids love to play outside no matter what. Everyone seemed to have a blast.
Some pictures of him opening gifts later:
playing outside the morning after the party:
and some cute videos...
Love it!
