Grandma Schmidt's Visit

This past weekend Grandma Schmidt arrived for a visit. When she arrived Grady was still battling the end of a sinus infection and was not his best. But he started to recover soon and had lots of fun times with "Gaga".
Saturday we ended up just hanging out here in the morning and then going downtown in the afternoon. That was fun since our downtown is so interesting. Mostly Grady just chilled in the stroller but he also played some in the park and by the fountains.
On Sunday we went hiking at Paris Mountain State Park, which is very close to us. Grady did so well in the hiking backpack we bought - I can't wait to use it all winter long, now that it is finally cool enough to do some hiking! That evening we went out to dinner with G in downtown Greenville. He did so well and was just hilarious. He was totally flirting with one of the waitresses. Eric took him outside while we paid the bill at the end of dinner. When I got out there he had picked some flowers from a nearby pot (oops!) and was running towards me, clutching them in his hand and yelling "I love you mama!". His new thing is bringing flowers to ladies. The other day he picked some of our mums and handed them to our neighbor with a big smile on his face.
Some pictures from Sunday...
Excuse the bink - it seemed to be helping with some of the nausea that we think he is having from the meds. He is drooling a ton and having a bad appetite, so we think it is that. But he really loved the hike!

On Monday we headed to the zoo in the morning and the butterfly garden in the afternoon. Grady had a really great time at the zoo which was all decorated for Halloween.

Looking at decorations before we got to go in - the pumpkin hat is adorable! Grandma got it for him from Gymboree, along with a "Little Pumpkin" onsie and some Halloween socks.

At the gate - he could not wait for them to open!

chickens! Grady always says they have hats :)

hugging pumpkins again - I swear this boy is ridiculously affectionate all the time!

Just a couple from the butterfly garden, as we had our hands pretty full since G really wanted to jump in the stream!

The next day we had Kindermusik in the morning. Grady was in a great mood, which was fun, since Grandma could see how much he loves that class. There was a small baby there again (his big brother is in the class) and Grady just kept saying "I love you baby" and hugging him. He also sang the "Itsy Bitsy Spider", which was pretty cute. He kept singing it and doing the motions.
That afternoon we made Halloween cookies. Here are a few last pictures...

He liked eating the sprinkles :)

I'll post a couple videos in a future post.
