American Baby

Fourth of July weekend was filled with fun and PARTIES!  After two cookouts (which we referred to as parties), Grady now says "I PARTY!" very excitedly, especially if you ask him, "Grady, do you party?"  He has also been making lots of other little sentences, like "I sit" and "I eat".  Anyway, the weekend kicked off on Friday with some splashy time in the backyard and a cookout in the neighborhood.  We love our neighbors and love that we know them and their kids so well that we can all enjoy each other's company.  Grady loves all the moms and kids and gives them all hugs and "wops" (kisses) regularly.

He was loving the watermelon at the party and kept helping himself to pieces off the low table.  He ate so well for dinner too - turkey hot dogs, bread, and tons of fruit!  He was still eating long after the other kids had lost interest and were playing.

My little American Baby - what a happy little guy.

The next day we went to another cook-out. This one was way out in the country at a house with a big yard and CHICKENS!  Grady loved them. He also loved the sandbox and trucks and all of the people.  He gave lots of kisses and hugs on our way out.  Another cute thing happened at dinner - one of the women there asked me how old he was, and he just jumped in with a very proud "ONE!!"  I love that he always wants to be included in the conversation.

Here he is, loving the flag, appropriately.
