fun with food and a roller coaster ride

The past week or so has been filled with new experiences for baby G.  It all started last weekend when we took him to the big pool for the first time this year.  He has been a bit slow to warm up, but seems to like it more each time we go.

Arriving in his little red wagon - so stylish!

Not so sure:

In the pool and happy!

We also went to a local festival with Grady's little German buddy.  He was begging to go on a ride (OK, so we really wanted to take him on one), so Momma rode the little roller coaster with him.  Although it was for little kids, it seemed that it was fitting for a roller coaster to be G's first ride.

Early last week I picked up some suction bowls and toddler spoons so Grady could try out feeding himself.  I got some video of his very first attempt.  He has already improved a lot though!

He has been getting lots of water time too - in the big pool and the baby pool.  Here he is at his buddy's house:

Well Grady doesn't attack the camera as much anymore, so I can take some of him playing again:

so happy up in the big chair:

We went to a family festival on Saturday morning and met up with G's baby lady friend, Berit.  Here they are high fiving:

Grady loooved the petting zoo.  Like, I can't even explain how much he loved it.  He giggled and smiled the entire time we were there.

he was "baa-ing" at these guys:

then he played at the bubble station and soaked himself

Later that day we dressed G up in his swim stuff so he could splash in the yard.  Berit and her family also came over for a cookout. I put ice in this cup, which he was fascinated with. He kept saying "eyeshhhhhh" (ice).

Grady is truly the huggiest baby ever.  Here he is hugging Berit in his playhouse.

And here he is with Mama on Mother's Day:

Here are a few more fun videos...

And - the cutest of all - hugging Berit and pointing out the parts of her face:
