Busy Baby!

Sorry that I have not posted in a while.  Grady has been sick some and then Eric was away for work all last week.  So we have been quite busy.  But lots of fun stuff has been going on too!

Grady had his first kiss last week :)  He has finally learned to pucker, so we were saying goodbye to a baby-lady-friend at the end of a playdate last week, and he started leaning in for a kiss.  I figured she would shy away.  But instead she leaned in and the kissed.  It was hilarious and so cute.  He has also been hugging like crazy lately - babies, adults, animals, toys - anything!  In general, he is just a really affectionate little guy.  He even says "awwwww" when he hugs things.

As far as new skills go, he has been stacking blocks really well lately - he does towers as high as 8 blocks now.  He is also quite into spinning in circles to make himself dizzy.  And his biggest new skill - talking - has been getting better all the time.  He will repeate just about anything we say now, which can be quite amusing. But he also KNOWS a ton of words too.  Just today he said "hair" for the first time (while pointing at it) and was really into saying "eye" while pointing at the eyes on every stuffed animal or baby in a book.  Other recent ones are hot and cold (often when referring to food) and yuck (said with disgust while pointing at trash on the ground or a trashcan).  He also loves Elmo and will say his name (along with Big Bird's) when looking at Sesame Street toys or books.

So besides his normal activities and some extra playdates, Grady also got to visit with Grandpa Jim and Miss Carolyn last week when they came to visit from Florida.  He was in good spirits and had a lot of fun playing with them.

Here is a picture of the falls downtown, where we hung out on Saturday.  The weather could have been nicer, but we went anyway so Grandpa could see it.

Here is Dada and Grady at the park, right before we had to bring Dada to the airport :(

Same park later in the week.  I brought his sand toys and G got to really play in the sand for the first time (with shovels and everything).  He really liked it so I am excited to see how he likes the beach in a month when we go.

at a different park last week:

This weekend we took G for his third haircut, which he did not love (he has done great the other 2 times).  But it was right before naptime, so I think he was just tired.  The place is so cool though.

Then we went to the Southern Kids Fest - a huge expo for kids and babies.  He loved the characters and the petting zoo the most.

He LOVED LOVED LOVED the ducks and didn't want to leave them.  He just kept quacking at them.

bunnies - he says "hop hop hop" when he sees a bunny:

high-fiving Sponge Bob:

He loved this little play house and kept trying to turn the water on:

Trying out his fire engine today:
