The good, the bad, and the ugly...

Last week started off great for us - a trip to the zoo, storytime, the park.  It was actually great until Friday night when we heard Grady coughing in his sleep.  He didn't cry out, but just coughed and coughed.  Finally we checked on him, felt how hot he was, found his temp to be 103 degrees, and decided to head to the ER.  On the way there he was projectile vomiting and just clinging to me - I am sure he was so scared, poor guy.  After a long, drawn-out visit at the ER and many tests, we discovered he had croup and strep throat.  He got a shot of antibiotic for the strep, which seemed to get rid of that very quickly.  The croup went away fairly quickly and now he is just left with a cold.  Through this all Grady has been sleeping through the night for 12-13 hours!  And his mood has been quite good - go figure.

In other GOOD news, he is really talking up a storm now!  He says lots of different words - I lose track - bubbles, bye bye, ball, baby, up, open, apple, brrrmmm brmmmm (when he drives his toy trucks around), moo, baa, cock a doodle doo, meow, imitates babies crying, dada (LOTS!), mama, nana, wow!, whoa!, more, bowl and lots more.

He's still all about hugging - especially girls.  It's really sweet.

He's starting to also get really good at doing hand motions to songs he knows.  He will clap or do his arms "up and down" at the appropriate times.  Today at the end of our Gymboree class we were doing "hip hip hooray!" and he punched his fist up in the air and went "WOOOOO!"  I think he has a future as a frat guy.

Anyway, we don't have any pictures from this weekend because he was sick, but here are some from all of our fun last week!
