Curious Grady goes to New YorkPosted on Sep. 8, 2007 at 1:15 PM - Post CommentSo Grady has recently become the most curious, active little guy. He is crawling really fast, pulling up very well on everything, and cruising along things well. He actually managed to climb up to the 3rd shelf of his bookshelf and dangle from it the other day! I was right there spotting him, but it is fun to see all the crazy things he can do!
Last weekend we headed up to New York to visit Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt for Labor Day. Grady also got to meet his Uncle Mark and Aunt Caroline for the first time. Grady did very well in the car, taking some nice 1.5 hour naps each way. He also did not really get frustrated with being in the carseat so much, which was great. I sat in the back with him and entertained him. He also slept well on the trip, and actually started a trend of longer naps, which I hope continues!
First, here are some pictures from before our trip...

Grady really did have a good time on the trip. On Saturday he got to visit with his Godparents, Mike and Tania. He splashed around in his baby pool some, and everyone enjoyed watching. He also accompanied us to Denino's Pizza, a Staten Island hot spot! He was so good at dinner.
On Sunday we went to Grandpa Schmidt's surprise birthday party. His teeth were acting up a bit, but he still did well. There was a 6-month-old girl baby there that he was definitely interested in.
On Monday we walked along the boardwalk at South Beach in Staten Island and then took him to have his first ice cream-like treat. We went for Italian Ice since he can't have dairy yet. It was very funny because he made a terrible face after the first bite but then immediately opened up his mouth for more. He gradually made better and better faces until he was crying when I took it away. He such a little piggy anyway. What food doesn't he like?
On Tuesday we took him to get his Halloween costume. Grandma Schmidt got it for him, and he will be going as a giraffe. He helped pick it out.
Here are the pictures. Some were taken by Grandpa Schmidt.
