Visit to the tummy specialist

Just a quick update form our visit today...
First off, Grady is up to 15 pounds, 6 ounces (11 ounces in 11 days!). He was also 27 inches long, so he is really growing fast!
The visit went well. I swear, the doctor is obsessed with him. He just would not stop saying "Oh my gosh! He is SO CUTE!" over and over He actually said he would adopt him if I would let him (kidding, of course).
The doctor said that if he was doing OK with oatmeal (which he is), then he is probably past his protein intolerance because oatmeal is hard on the stomach. So he suggested that I try the other (cheaper) formula again. He also said that I should be giving him fruts or vegetables about 3 times per day. He said to introduce a new one every 3 days. He told me that fruits and veggies were actually one of the easiest thing on the stomach (for babies with his problem). He said grains are actually hard (as are dairy). So we are going to be starting some fun food soon! I think we will do bananas today! He also told me that I should give him the solids and THEN do a bottle.
Apparently, he thinks he has outgrown his protein intolerance almost entirely. He said the reflux (actually a separate, but related issue) peaks around now (hence, the huge amount of spitting lately), and goes away by a year. He said the sooner he stands, the better. He was very impressed that Grady could sit unassisted so well. So although sitting actually irritates the reflux, it is a good sign that he will be an early stander/walker. So all good news!
