The good and the bad

The bad first:

Well, I hate to write about negative things on here, but I just wanted to give a little update on Grady's medical "issues". He had a test done last week to figure out why he was spitting up so much and seeming so uncomfortable, especially while eating. Turns out he has reflux and another issue that makes it tough for his food to digest. Neither one is really serious and he should outgrow both within the first year. Both are also quite common, especially in first-born boys. However, it is not fun to watch him be uncomfortable. Now we also know why he had trouble gaining weight quickly at first (although thankfully he is now becoming quite the chubby little guy!). Anyway, we have started him on some medicine for it and have seen a big decrease in his spitting up. He still seems uncomfortable while eating, but hopefully that will go away soon too (the medication can take a while longer to have the full beneficial effect).

Now for the good:

Grady is really grabbing at things - everything he can get his chubby little hands on - my hair, toys, blankets, my fingers. He is starting to be able to really enjoy his toys now!

He is also still the smiliest baby around - he gives mom and dad tons of smiles, but the random lady at Target will also usually get a smile. He is becoming quite the little flirt!

AND he has started really blabbing away. I think he will take after his mother in this regard. He has little conversations with me all the time.
