Grady is Two Weeks Old!

From Monday, December 11, 2006:

Grady is doing great! He seems to be a lot less fussy and be suffering from a lot less tummy issues. I was seriously worried he may be developing colic, after a few tough days. But he has been an absolute ANGEL the past few days!

I am really enjoying Grady every day. I still sit and stare at his little face. I think about all of the things he will do in his life - all of the potential inside his tiny self. I LOVE having him so small, but I also get excited about seeing him laugh or hearing him say "mommy" or teaching him to swim. I have to say, I think being a mother is the greatest thing ever. I knew I really wanted kids, but if I knew how wonderful it would be, I would not have been so nervous when I was pregnant. No one can prepare you for it! No one could have really explained to me why I wouldn't care that I hadn't done my hair in a week But why waste time on that when I could be snuggling with my baby? Like I keep saying - motherhood has given me incredible perspective on life.  I am so proud of what Eric and I have done, and I have surprised myself in so many ways. I was afraid I would not have enough patience, but now I find so much patience inside me. Even if Grady is having a hard day, I just want to hold him tighter and love him more.
