"LOVE"Posted on Mar. 2, 2010 at 6:23 PM - 0 Comments - Post Comment - LinkIt has been a tough week in our house - Mama has pneumonia, it seems, which is especially NOT fun at 26 weeks pregnant. Grady is also coming down with something, though he seems to be faring better than I am. Anyway, I am so sick of sickness and ready to be well. So I didn't come on here to post about that. I came on to post about a simple thing Grady did this evening after his tub that just warmed my heart and brightened my mood like only that little boy can. I pulled him out of the tub and wrapped him in a towel AND a blanket since he was feeling chilly (he has a low fever). He just snuggled his head down into my neck and said "LOVE!" Like that's exactly what he was feeling at that moment. Me too, Grady. My ReaderPosted on Feb. 25, 2010 at 11:10 AM - 0 Comments - Post Comment - LinkSo Grady shows lots of great pre-reading skills (like knowing all his letters, knowing the sounds most make, and recognizing logos for brands and stores EVERYWHERE!) but of course he is not reading yet. However, he really made me proud (and totally surprised me) last night when I was putting him to bed. I got him this little heart-shaped pillow for Valentine's Day that says "I love you". Of course I had told him it said that, but it isn't something we talked about again and again. So he picked it up last night and pointed at each letter, saying each one as he went. Once he did the whole word, he said what the word was! "L-O-V-E - love!" To me, that seemed like a pretty big step towards reading!A Beautiful Weekend!Posted on Feb. 23, 2010 at 3:18 PM - 0 Comments - Post Comment - LinkWe had a really great weekend, partly due to the fact that we had FABULOUS weather which just put us all in a great mood. It was close to 70 and sunny both days. On Saturday we had a birthday party for the little boy down the street who was turning 2. Since it was so nice outside the party was in the backyard, which was great. Grady ran around and played and everyone had fun. Meanwhile Eric managed to move the remaining furniture out of the old office (new nursery) and into the new guest room/office. Everything fits great in the new space, and the room is really coming together. Now we can really get going on the nursery! The furniture should be here soon, I have paint picked, and we just need to start painting. Eric will be travelling a lot before and just after our upcoming trip to Florida, so hopefully we can fit it in. Eric also made tons of progress on the playhouse on Saturday. The roof is all shingled! The siding is up next, then he can install the windows, and the exterior is done! I plan on helping with the interior since that should be lots of fun. Saturday night we went out to dinner since G had taken a long nap. Good times! Here are some pictures from our beautiful weekend... Oh, and our daffodils are even coming up - spring is here! We are still enjoying the nice weather around here. Hopefully we will be seeing lots more of it now that it is almost March! Winter FunPosted on Feb. 16, 2010 at 2:50 PM - 0 Comments - Post Comment - LinkWe had some fun times this past weekend, despite the snow, which never makes Mama very happy. We are very happy that temperatures are supposed to return to the more normal high 50's by the weekend. It sure has been one crazy winter! We are ready for spring! Oh, and I just had to add this great little video of Grady sledding! It was his first time ever!Grady in Paradise - videosPosted on Feb. 15, 2010 at 12:25 PM - 0 Comments - Post Comment - LinkThere were also a few cute videos from the Puerto Rico trip that I had to share....
